Professionals are defined as dancers / teachers who have made money from either performing and / or teaching Hip Hop.<BR> Ï% On the days of the competition, all competitors will be required to sign-in punctually, dressed and ready for the competition. The sign-in time for the semi finals on Fridays, October will be 8pm. The heats will be on Fridays, 1st and 8th October. The finals will be on 22nd October.<P> <U>Registration</U><BR> Ï% Every participating group will be required to pay a fee of $50 before attending the first briefing.<BR> Ï% This registration fee is refundable.<P> <U>Categories & Time Limits</U><BR> Ï% Group  Minimum of 4 dancers, maximum of 10 dancers.<BR> Ï% The maximum time limit per group is 4 minutes.<P> <U>Music for Competition</U><BR> Ï% Groups are permitted to mix and bring music of their choice on a standard CD. Points will be deducted for failure to keep within the stipulated CD.<BR> Ï% Proper CD format, length of music, sound quality and recording level will be the sole responsibility of the participants.<BR> Ï% Music submission must be made at 8pm on the day of the heats, so that there is ample time to ensure that the submitted music is playable.<P> <U>Judges</U><BR> Ï% A panel of no less than three judges will determine winners of the heats and their decision will be final.<BR> Ï% Judges will be persons experienced in dance and competition judging. Judges will be instructed to judge the competition according to the judging criteria (See Judging Criteria).<P> <U>Judging Criteria</U><BR> The judging criteria will be as follows:<BR> Ï% Choreography (30%): The originality of choreography and how well put together the piece is.<BR> Ï% Rhythm and Timing (25%) The ability to stay on the beat and be on time.<BR> Ï% Costuming (15%)<BR> Ï% Performance-ability (20%): Presentation and how well the performance reaches the audience.<BR> Ï% Dancing as a Group (10%): How well the group dances together.<P> <U>Heats</U><BR> Ï% The heats will take place on Fridays, 1st and 8th October, 10pm at dbl 0.<BR> Ï% The order of competition will be determined by drawing of lots.<P> <U>Final Round</U><BR> Ï% All finalists will compete on 22nd October 2010, 10pm at dbl 0.<BR> Ï% The order of competition will be determined by drawing of lots.<P> <U>Prizes</U><BR> Ï% 1st prize- $3K cash with a bottle of Jim Beam<BR> Ï% 1st Runner up- $1.2K cash with a bottle of Jim Beam<BR> Ï% 2nd Runner up- $500 cash with a bottle of Jim Beam<P> <U>General Commentary, Suggestions and Disclaimers</U><BR> Ï% The competition committee reserves the right to make exceptions to the rules in cases of extreme circumstance or in the case that the rules are interpreted in a way not intended by the competition committee (i.e.  loopholes ).<BR> Ï% Dancers are strongly encouraged to dance on the competition's dance floor prior to the event to familiarize them with the floor's feel and to anticipate the lighting. All competitors will be allocated a time slot for this.<BR> Ï% All competitors consent to release the use of their photographs, biographies, and names with regard to promotion of the event to the competition committee and dbl 0.<BR> Ï% Have fun competing before anything else.<BR> Ï% All decisions made by the competition committee are final.<P> <U>Waiver of Liability</U><BR> Ï% Participation in the event is entirely at the dancers' own risk. Performance of dangerous choreography is not endorsed by the competition committee and will not be reflected favorably in the scoring.
